Regular adjustments change the light, color, sharpness and noise of the pixels you already have. AI enhance uses the Real-ESRGAN neural network to increase resolution 2× or 4× and reconstruct fine detail, so it works best on small, blurry or heavily compressed photos.
On first use your browser downloads the neural network model and then caches it. On slower phones, or at 4×, a large photo can take up to a minute — keep the tab open while it works.
